There's two sides to every story - we know to try to be conscious of this during arguments, but are you sure to be conscious of it always? Make sure when you're around people who like to talk shit you take what they say with a grain of salt. They may have heard the story from someone else who warped it, or are exaggerating themselves. Never form your opinion of anyone without meeting them yourself.
You'd want others to give you a chance, right?
